Burgh continued their pre-season preparations welcoming a very good Scone Thistle side to East Shore Park.
The visitors started quickest with a chance in the opening minute saved by David Chalmers before Burgh took over with Harris Mitchell having a good effort tipped over the bar and Andrew Cameron heading wide from a corner.
In the 10th minute came what transpired to be the only goal of the game with Dan Kenny latching onto a beautiful ball played between the Scone defence by Harris Mitchell to slot home past the advancing keeper into the corner of the net.
Mitchell Sharp had a good effort from the edge of the area saved and Cameron headed a corner into the side netting at the far post. It was an encouraging opening 45 minutes with plenty of good passages of play, just the final outcome was missing against a hard working Scone side.
Jamie Fyfe had a good effort at goal blocked in the second half, whilst second half keeper Joe Russell did well to stake his claim for the number 1 jersey from the equally impressive Chalmers when he spectacularly touched over a rasping Scone free kick in the 86th minute
It was a good game played in the right manner between two hard working sides. For Burgh, it was another clean sheet and win, and it was good to see the team really gelling and playing some good football.
Best wishes to Scone Thistle for their season.
