Burgh Unveil New Manager

Burgh Unveil New Manager

Jez Grimwood27 Feb 2024 - 20:00

Welcome to the club to Andy Healy!

We are delighted to announce Andy Healy as the new manager of the Newburgh Juniors Football Club.

Andy has extensive experience of the local football scene, along with a track record of developing and progressing young players which aligns well with the current squad and areas of need for the club.

Starting his coaching career with Dalgety Bay back in 2001, he guided them to multiple honours with league title and Cup successes over an 11-year period.

Andy has had plenty of experience of working in difficult situations and rebuilding a team following tough spells for both Luncarty and Kirkcaldy YM (now Kirkcaldy & Dysart), where he built a competitive team from scratch.

After this, spells at Kennoway Star Hearts and Lochore Welfare followed, the latter only having a minimal squad committed for the new season. Again blending a youthful squad with a few senior players, it proved fruitful as five of the young players brought in between 2016 to 2018 by Healy later featured in Lochore’s King Cup Final success in 2022/23.

Healy then managed Lochgelly Albert and took them to 5th place in the table between 2018 and 2020.

Since then, Andy has had productive spells at both Inverkeithing and Dundonald Bluebell’s Under 20 development team.

With the Burgh squad largely youthful, we feel Andy Healy will be a great asset to nurture and bring out the best of our players’ potential and improve the club.

Andy will be assisted by Mike Riddell and Jason Inglis and we thank them for their support during this transitional period.

Welcome to Burgh, Andy Healy!
