Newburgh Juniors can confirm that striker Mitchell Sharp has joined First Division side Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts.
Mitch joined the club during the summer of 2023 before making his debut on the opening day of the 2023/24 season in the 1-1 draw away at Edinburgh United.
It wasn’t long before he was on the goal trail netting a great strike in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup match at home to Coldstream to equalise for Burgh to make it 1-1.
The speedy striker has made an impressive start to this season, finding the net 11 times already which has drawn the attention of a number of clubs. Manager Andy Healy didn’t want to stand in the way of an opportunity to play at a higher level and when the offer came from the Swifts, spoke with the player and honoured his word to help Sharp develop his future at a higher level.
The forward leaves the club amassing 48 starts, 3 substitute appearances and hitting the net on 20 occasions, along with 6 Man of the Match awards.
We’d like to thank Mitch for all his efforts during his time at East Shore Park and wish him every success for the future.
